Hi there, my name is Thomas Denhardt and I am a New Zealand Registered Architect with over twelve years of experience in the architecture service industry. During this tenure, I have completed over a hundred projects – both locally and internationally – through SME & corporate enterprises, ranging between $5 million to $5.5 billion New Zealand dollars in contract value. These projects have encompassed a broad range of building typologies during design and construction delivery phases for both public and private principals.
My insatiable need to learn and my attitude towards being an industrious worker have rewarded me with a strong and significant portfolio of work, allowing me to realize my passion for design excellence and drive ‘best for project’ outcomes. I am receptive to new challenges and proactive in collaborating with others, which gives me the ability to remain outside my comfort zone to thrive both personally and professionally as an individual.
I pursued my career back in 2008 at the University of Auckland, after relocating to the North Island from Dunedin, where I completed secondary studies at Otago Boys’ High School. Upon graduation with honors, I put architectural theory into practice and built my professional career in Auckland City through selective local practices. Today, I hold the sought after title of Senior Architect at WSP NZ and am leading a public train station development based in the state of Ontario, Canada.

Historically, I have been a regular contributor to architectureNZ – New Zealand’s national architecture magazine – where I have provided several articles based on issues relevant to architects and the broader local design community. I am also an affiliated member with a number of industry associations, such as New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA), the New Zealand Registered Architects Board (NZRAB), the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI), the Property Council of New Zealand (PCNZ) and the Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ).
